Description
Painted Jan 2014 from pencil sketches, The Ashuwillticook Rail Trail is a former railroad converted to a bike path. The Ashuwillticook runs through the towns of Cheshire, Lanesborough and Adams. The trail passes through the Hoosic Valley, between the Mount Greylock and the Hoosac Mountain Ranges. Along Cheshire Lake and the Hoosic River. The name Ashuwillticook (ash-oo-will-ti-cook) comes from the Native American word that means "the pleasant river in between the hills."

Len, As always your work is elegant! Simple and complex at the same time. I like that this is expressive with the beauty of abstraction but also something that would wear well with those who favor soft impresssionist works.Favorite.

What a fantastic place to find myself, immersed in this breathtaking and delightful winter scene! Among many other amazing touches, I love how you contrast the character and feeling of the evergreens and the birches. Such power and sensitivity to the observations you convey. l/f
