the Ray Serre Farm - Art

Paintings from the late 1980's just as farming was to end in these parts... Message: My cousin shared this with our family. This is my Great Uncle Ray's farm, where I spent practically every Sunday of my childhood. We played in the hay lofts, rode the go-cart and played kick the can. I can not believe how well you captured the true essence of his home forever in my heart. As farm land is developed there will only be the memories of farmhouses captured in your works of art. Thank you, Judy The farm was purchased in 1931. It was 142 acres. About 50 were farmland. It had a grass strip airplane runway as my uncle was a pilot. The rest was pasture and woodland. There was a waterfall on the property in the woods. He also was a bee keeper. We know there was an orchard on the property. When my brother and I helped out on the farm there were still some apple trees remaining. Iím not sure how many cows they had. I have pictures of them working the farm, very early pictures. Work horses, haying. Cutting wood for Lumber. Regards, Bruce
